Model City Builders

Build Experience. Reveal Promise.

Model City Builders brings together architecture, art, design, and the building trades to build skills through a project-based curriculum.

Model City Builders is a four-week summer intensive for high school students in grades 10-12 who are interested in exploring career paths in design, construction, and the built environment. The program exposes participants to fields of architecture, woodworking, and construction through hands-on projects.

Students learn to use basic tools and a variety of materials while gaining lifelong skills of making, as well as creative thinking and interpersonal skills within an inquisitive and accepting environment. Graduates have gone on to pursue careers in architecture, engineering, set design, construction, and other fields.

Attend at no cost. No prior experience is necessary. Most participants are eligible for full tuition scholarships and weekly cash grants.
